MTA Bus Case Study
PROJECT CONTEXT
The MTA Bus Case Study encompasses an in-depth analysis of bus operations across Manhattan and Queens, focusing on the data captured on a typical weekday, specifically Thursday, June 1st. The study slices the data daily, offering insights into bus locations at an hourly rate. This method provides a granular view of bus operations, capturing the dynamics of bus concentrations and movements throughout the day.
The application of neighborhood boundary data was crucial in isolating specific areas that experience high bus congestion. This analysis highlighted significant traffic issues, particularly in Midtown Manhattan and parts of Queens.
The findings are effectively illustrated on a choropleth map, where the regions with the highest congestion levels are marked in shades of pink and purple.
